Recommendation Technologies Notice

This notice is prepared in accordance with Georgian law and constitutes a voluntary disclosure of how recommendation technologies are used in the «Expat Market» service, provided in the interest of transparency for all users. The notice also takes into account the requirements of Russian Federal Law No. 149-FZ of 27 July 2006 "On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection" (as amended by Federal Law No. 323-FZ of 21 July 2022) as applicable to users from the Russian Federation.

1. What recommendation technologies are used in the service

A recommendation technology is an information technology that determines the order in which information is presented to a user based on data analysis. In the «Expat Market» service, recommendation technologies are applied when forming the order in which listings are displayed in the catalogue.

2. Technologies in use

Listing ranking in the catalogue. The primary display order of listings in the feed is determined by a single time-based rank: the more recently a listing was published or promoted, the higher its position; over time, the position decreases along a time-decay curve that is the same for all listings.

The service does not apply personalised ranking based on an individual user's browsing history: under the same filter parameters, the display order is the same for all users (except for the random rotation within the pinned-listings block).

3. Data used for ranking

The following data is used to determine the display order of listings:

Users' personal data — browsing history, demographic characteristics, preferences — is not used for individual ranking.

4. User controls

Users may influence the composition and display order of listings in the following ways:

Complete disabling of algorithmic ranking is not available, as the parameters used (promotion status, publication date, query relevance) are technical rather than personal.

This notice is drawn up in Russian and English. In the event of any discrepancy, the Russian version shall prevail.
